The data in this infographic comes from our annual gamer consumer insights research and is a weighted average across 33 markets. Our definition of Gen X is someone aged 41–55.

Are Gen X gamers? Yes! In fact, 60% of Gen X play video games.

Gaming takes up 18% of leisure time that Gen X consumers spend on entertainment. This puts playing games in second place after watching broadcast TV. Women make up 45% of all Gen X gamers.

Mobile is the most played platform with 54% of Gen X playing on a mobile device in the last 6 months. This is followed by PC then Console

The average amount of time that Gen X gamers spend playing games per week is 4.25 hours. Half of them are willing to spend money on games; 52% spent money on games on any platform in the last 6 months.

In terms of personas, the most common one among Gen X is the time filler. This is someone who plays games more casually — typically on mobile — when they have spare time or at social events.
